What is Magistration?
Magistration is the legal process in which an arrested individual appears before a magistrate (judge) to be informed of the charges against them, advised of their rights, and have their bond amount and any conditions of release set. This is often one of the first steps in the criminal justice process following an arrest.

 

Live Stream Availability
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office now provides a live stream of magistration proceedings for public viewing in the lobby of the Kendall County Detention Center.

 

Location: Lobby of the Kendall County Detention Center


Viewing Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

 

Viewing Rules
To ensure a respectful and orderly environment for all viewers and participants in the judicial process, the following rules apply during magistration live stream viewing:

  • No photography, video recording, or audio recording is permitted.

  • Please silence all cell phones and electronic devices.

  • Maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere while in the viewing area.

  • No disruptive behavior will be tolerated.

  • Children must be supervised at all times.

We encourage community members to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the judicial process while following all posted guidelines.
