Lieutenant Jon Rutledge, Patrol

Lt. John Rutledge 

Lieutenant Jon Rutledge began his law enforcement career in 2000 with the Boerne Police Department. After completing the police academy at the Alamo Area Council of Governments, he received over a thousand training hours to start his career. Jon joined the Boerne Police Department as a patrol officer and worked over 14 years on the night shift as a Field Training Officer. Jon worked to become a Senior Patrol Officer with Boerne PD and later served as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Boerne Middle School North. Jon holds a Master Peace Officer's license with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and currently holds over 2,000 training hours. Jon holds certifications in Advanced SWAT training, Mental Health Officer training, and numerous hours of leadership training through the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Jon left the Boerne Police Department in 2020 to begin his career with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office in January of 2021. Jon started as a patrol deputy and quickly moved into a Patrol Sergeant position serving as the night shift patrol supervisor. Jon was promoted to Lieutenant in 2023. Jon continues to serve the citizens of Kendall County as well as the deputies who serve under him through his current role as Patrol Lieutenant.
