K.C.S.O. Blue Santa Program
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office Blue Santa Program goes back twenty-five-plus years. At that time it was called the Brown Santa Program. The program was changed to Blue Santa when the Sheriff's Office, Boerne Police Association (B.P.O.A), and the Fair Oaks Police Department joined forces in 2004. The program now consists of the Sheriff's Office, Hill Country Family Services, Boerne Community Coalition, Boerne I.S.D, and the American Legion.
There are approximately 20 Sheriff's Office and Community Volunteers working on various aspects of the program that contribute over 550 man-hours in preparation for this event. Activities include administrative duties, picking up toys, sorting toys, and bagging up individual family requests.
This is an amazing program that has continued to grow to reach approximately 450 kids or 145 families each year. This could not be done without the help of our community donating during the toy drives and our volunteers.
