GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

09/11/2019

A note from one of our dear Thin Blue Line family members, Cheryl Goudreau.

Today I will climb 130 flights of stairs at the Tower of the Americas. This climb on 9-11 is a tribute to 343 firefighters,71 law enforcement officers and 9 EMS that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. This year I am honored to represent the Kendall County Sheriffs Office and will be carrying a badge for Deputy Carlos Ramirez who was killed in the line of duty on July 2, 2019, while conducting a traffic stop. I will also carry a badge for Sgt Matt Johnson who lost his battle with cancer on July 5, 2019. We will climb to complete the climbs for, and pay tribute to those who perished on September 11. We climb to complete their climb, in honor of them, in tribute to them, and for them. So on this day hold your loved ones a little closer, take a moment to appreciate the sacrifices that every firefighter, police officer, and emergency personnel give each and every day to keep us safe. Deputy Ramirez, Sgt Johnson. Thank you for your service and sacrifice you have given to the citizens of Kendall County. I am honored to complete this climb in honor of you.
