***Kendall County Law Enforcement Center Update***

06/01/2019

On May 31, 2019, the Kendall County Engineer and Facilities Management received the results of a water sample tested inside the Detention Facility at the Kendall County Law Enforcement Center. The test results showed contaminants in our water supply from this one particular test site.

We are erring on the side of caution due to this one test from one fixture within the jail facility and do not know if the entire complex is experiencing this issue.

Precautionary measures to address any health concerns of our personnel and inmates have been taken by providing bottled water for drinking and cooking.

The operations for the Kendall County Law Enforcement Center are currently using bottled water for all consumption by all personnel and inmates.

At this point, inmates can still shower, wash clothing and bedding and use the toilet facilities.

The contaminants have been ISOLATED to the Kendall County Law Enforcement Center and ARE NOT a City water supply issue.

The Kendall County Law Enforcement Center will continue to use bottled water until the source of contaminants is found and corrected. We will have an independent testing company at our facility today, June 1, 2019, to find a solution.

Tests will be taken throughout the entire complex; safety measures are in place to retrieve all water bottles from the inmates after use, water bottles will be recycled and Sheriff Auxier is working diligently all weekend with all involved to correct this issue within the Kendall County Law Enforcement Center.

Again, this IS NOT A CITY WATER SUPPLY ISSUE.
