On May 3rd, Mental Health Deputies Mike Cokerham and Michelle Quade joined Boerne Police Department, Bexar County Sheriff's Office, and State Police for a joint SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Training. Our Mental Health Deputies are both trained Hostage Negotiators and this training consisted of real-life scenarios where SWAT teams may be called to intervene if negotiating with a suspect is not possible. It is important that our office works and trains with surrounding agencies in the event there is a crisis where extra manpower is needed.
