Last night, Sergeant Ortiz and Sergeant Barter taught Citizen's Academy the ins and outs of Jail Operations. They shared their expertise and passion for what they do. Sergeant Ortiz has been with the Sheriff's Office since 2009 and Sergeant Barter started in 2004. The Academy was given the opportunity to tour the jail and was shown some of the contraband that has been confiscated from inmates throughout the years. Our jail is currently receiving an expansion as the Sheriff's Office houses all subjects arrested by Kendall County, Boerne Police Department, City of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX PD, and DPS.
