Citizen's Academy

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is honored to present this year's Sheriff's Citizens Academy.

The Sheriff's Citizens Academy will introduce you to the office that serves our community. You will see firsthand how we conduct business and why. The purpose of this academy is to enhance, through education and hands-on participation, the positive relationship between our office and our community. It is designed to give you a better understanding of the mission and operations of our agencies, to enable each of you to gain an appreciation of the current challenges facing law enforcement. This will offer you an opportunity for comments and suggestions in helping to solve these challenges. Your valued input will allow us to continue to improve on the services we provide.

Topics that will be presented will include patrol procedures, criminal investigation, jail operations, polygraph examinations, Justice of the Peace duties, District Attorney Operations, animal control, narcotics and K9 Demonstration, Civilian Response to Active Shooter, and scenario-based training.

Completion of the academy gives you, as a Kendall County Law Enforcement Academy Alumni, a unique opportunity to assist our local law enforcement agencies with many functions where civilian participation is needed and appreciated if you so desire.
This year's class will begin on March 28, 2022, and will end in the latter part of May 2022. The classes will be on every Monday at 6:00 PM. A schedule will be given out on the first day of class so you can plan accordingly. We do understand that you will not be able to attend every class.
