While most of us were home asleep last night our Deputies were hard at work.

The following is how their night went:

On 03/23/2021, at 9:34 PM, Dep. Justin Granado conducted a traffic stop at the 531 MM of I-10 for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, who identified himself as Joshua Huffman from Orange Grove, TX. When asked for his driver's license, Joshua advised his license was currently suspended. During the course of the traffic stop, Joshua also said he may have a warrant out for his arrest. A felony warrant was located for Joshua out of Jim Wells County for Possession of a Controlled Substance penalty group 1. A loaded handgun was later located under Joshua's seat.
The sole passenger of the vehicle was identified as Eleanor Noel of Orange Grove, TX. During the course of the conversation, Eleanor was extremely nervous. Dep. Meyer and K-9 Luna were called to the scene and K-9 Luna alerted to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and methamphetamine and marijuana were located.
Joshua was arrested for the Jim Wells county felony warrant, Unlawfully Carrying Weapons, Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >=4G<200G, and Possession of Marijuana >2OZ<=4OZ.

Eleanor was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >=4G<200G, and Possession of Marijuana >2OZ<=4OZ.
Then at approximately 2:06 AM, Kerr County Sheriff's Office requested a K9 Unit to conduct a track for a suspect that fled on foot after a pursuit with a stolen vehicle in their county. Deputies Granado, Mitschke, Meyer, and K-9 Luna responded to assist. Upon arrival, K-9 Luna was deployed to track the suspect. K-9 Luna tracked the suspect to a point where it was obvious that the suspect had circled back to where the stolen vehicle was wrecked. A short time after that Kerr County Deputies located the suspect and he was taken into custody.
Needless to say, it was not a good night for our local criminals. Good job everyone.
