Winter Weather Advisory

02/11/2021

Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect through next week for Kendall County and surrounding areas.
Temperatures will drop into the 20's daily starting today through next week and temperatures will drop into the single digits on Sunday and Monday!

A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet with temperatures near to below freezing at ground level will make some roadways, especially bridges and overpasses, slick to potentially impassable. Isolated power outages cannot be ruled out. Please avoid traveling over the next few days if at all possible in these areas!

It is important to remember to Cover pipes and plants, run pool equipment, drip faucets, and protect animals by bringing them indoors. Stock up on food and prepare to stay at home unless travel is absolutely necessary. Check on loved ones especially the elderly, and young adults also that may have never experienced this type of weather. If you must travel, prepare for the worst by taking food, water, extra blankets and clothes, flashlights, flares, etc., and keep your fuel tank topped off in case you get stranded or delayed.
